NGORONGORO SERENA SAFARI LODGE

As if in a land before time, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built into the rim of a dormant volcano, the plant and ivy - covered native stone blending masterfully with its surroundings. Close by lies the Olduvai Gorge, the "birthplace of mankind".
Today the volcano and surrounding landscape are part of a vast conservation area inhabited by the Masai tribe, as well as an extraordinary variety of big game and birdlife.

Daily excursions take visitors in four wheel drive vehicles to the crater floor. All day tour include a picnic lunch. Special elegant luncheons can be served there upon special request. Excursions are also available to nearby Olduvai Gorge.
Most guest rooms have private terraces with views of the crater floor where countless animals make their home. At Ngorongoro Serena Lodge visitors co-exist in perfect harmony with the natural environment and the wildlife that inhabits it.
Cultural events include Masai dancing and celebratory presentations. In the evenings, a choir or guitarist performs for guests' pleasure.
Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge opened in 1996, the comfort, style, and quality of the food and service is up to the usual high Serena standard.

There are 75 double rooms.
