GAME PARKS
| This
comparatively small park, covering only 137 square kilometres, is little
known and often by- passed, since visitors on a limited itinerary understandably
want to see the more famous attractions. However, for those whose schedules
and logistics permit, a visit to this park has much to offer and is a delightful
introduction to the Parks and wildlife of Tanzania. It is situated a short distance from Arusha itself, making it easy to visit on a day or half day trip. It is particularly suitable for those just arrived from Europe or the U.S. wanting not too taxing a first day, while they acclimatise and recover from their journey. The park has several completely different habitats within its confines, from a flamingo fringed soda lake to dense forest, a crater floor like a miniature Ngorongoro and Mount Meru itself. |
