Ranger Safaris can offer a great selection of camping trips. Several are available on a fixed date seat-in-vehicle basis, and we will be pleased to provide you with details of these on request. However, many clients on camping trips wish to have their own private vehicle and can then decide exactly on their own itinerary, subject to logistical considerations. Ranger Safaris only arrange luxury camping, and these trips are, generally speaking, more expensive than the equivalent itineraries staying in lodges. However, it is really a special experience, and many would consider it the only authentic way to safari and well worth the extra cost. Although not inexpensive, you will find Rangers' prices for adventure camping compare favourably with others offering the same level of quality and service. Do not confuse this type of camping with the "overlander" style of travel by truck with crawl-in-tents and sleeping bags. Rangers camping usually involves using a combination of permanent, semi-permanent and mobile private campsites.

The tents are spacious with a veranda, easy chairs, proper beds and an attached bathroom tent with flush toilets and hot water showers. The vehicles you will travel in are specially converted Land Rovers or Land Cruisers, with a maximum number of 5 passengers.  A full crew will accompany your expedition to take care of all the work and details involved in setting up and moving the mobile camps. They will also provide the transport for game drives during the days and catering at nights where appropriate.
